Computers

All 15 public libraries throughout the Yukon have WiFi and computers. Some libraries have unlimited, high-speed Internet. Most have printing available. To find out what is available in your community, go to your library's page.

The information below is for the Whitehorse Location only. 

Internet and Wi-Fi

Desktop computers 

There are 9 computers that can be borrowed for up to one hour per day. Log in with your library card or request a guest pass from library staff. All computers have basic office applications. 

Computers can be reserved for a future time at the printing kiosk. 

Wi-Fi connection

Wi-Fi is free and unlimited. Ask staff for the login details, or scan one of the QR codes throughout the library to connect directly. 

Mobile printing

Introducing Princh, our new mobile printing solution

We have implemented Princh, a new printing solution, at Whitehorse Public Library. With this solution it is now possible to easily and securely print from a mobile phone, tablet, or laptop, both remotely and at the library.

Print from a mobile device or tablet

  1. When printing at the library: locate the print guide poster near the printer and scan the QR code.
    1. When printing remotely: open your browser, go to print.princh.com and enter the 6-digit printer ID: 110448.
  2. Upload your document(s).
  3. Adjust the settings.
  4. Enter your email address.
  5. Proceed to the Print Release Terminal to finalize your print job.

Printing from your laptop

  1. When printing remotely or at the library: open your browser, go to print.princh.com and enter the 6-digit printer ID: 110448.
  2. Upload your document(s).
  3. Adjust the settings.
  4. Enter your email address.
  5. Proceed to the Print Release Terminal to pay for and finalize your print job.

Privacy

For your protection, all print jobs are wiped after 24 hours. If you're unable to retrieve your print jobs within 24 hours, you'll need to resubmit them.

Printing cost

We provide free printing for up to 10 pages per day.

Printing and copying

Photocopy

Self-serve black-and-white photocopying is available on the 2nd floor of the library. Copies can be printed single- or double-sided on letter-, legal-, and ledger-sized paper.  Copying cost: copying is free for up to 5 pages per day. We ask that you take larger jobs to a copy shop.

Print

Printing is available from all library computers. Printing cost: Printing is free for up to 10 pages per day. We ask that you take larger jobs to a copy shop. Resumes can also be printed at Employment Central across the street. 

Scan

Scan to print, email or USB. 

Other

iPad

One iPad is available in the children's area on a first come, first served basis. It is pre-loaded with games that appeal to young children, and is not Wi-Fi enabled.

Accessible station

There is one assistive computer station with a height-adjustable table, large print keyboard, large touchscreen monitor, trackball mouse, portable CD/DVD player Windows 10 with Ease of Access, and a leather-padded office chair with armrest.
